TIFT® FOUNDATIONS
- Living and non-living complex systems are governed by organising principles through which forms emerge, maintain continuity and transform.
- Living complex systems are dynamic open systems that require an input of energy to organise themselves and maintain their configuration.
- The human organism is one continuous living whole. Under constraint, its configuration can twist while its wholeness and original blueprint remain present.
- Attachment provides the biological and relational conditions through which delimitation, orientation, differentiation, rhythm and Self can develop.
- Plan A and Plan B arise from the same matrix and carry the same life force. Plan A expresses coherent wholeness. Plan B is Plan A organised in torsion within a closed system.
- Under the twist and constraints, the two branches arise directly from the structural deficiencies as inseparable developmental solutions through which the organism continues to live and develop. Together, they represent the internalised existential dyad that the parent could not provide.
- The path of the living and the path of trauma are two clinical reading paths. The path of the living begins with what has formed: the coherence and success of Plan B and its intact life force. The path of trauma follows the voids, disorganisation and unfinished processes. TIFT follows the path of the living while including trauma and grief within the unfolding.
- TIFT begins with the person’s present organisation as it is. A stable therapeutic architecture and gently reiterated cycles allow movement, reorganisation and maturation to unfold through the whole system.
- TIFT follows one session sequence throughout all three stages. Across these stages, the stable therapeutic architecture allows the adaptive organisation to unravel in its own time and rhythm along the vertical path to the original attachment wound.
KEY LIVING -SYSTEM TERMS
Matrix, structure, organisation, configuration and form
Matrix
living generative field driving emergence and transformation
Structure
material components and their relations
Organisation
relational pattern maintaining the system as a whole
Configuration
current arrangement of the whole system
Form
spatial expression of the configuration
Structural map
flattened 2D representation of the configuration
2D → 3D: same map, different spatial form.
