TIFT® Trauma Integrating Flow Therapy (TIFT) reading of Audrey’s testimonial.

Audrey lives with 16 distinct configurations. Emma and Samuel are two of these 16 configurations.

1. Wholeness, differentiation and identity

Audrey’s central realisation is: “I am a Whole.” Her second is: “I am a person like anyone else.”

Differentiation → fuller unfolding of each configuration → increasing perception of transitions → continuity of access across transitions → shared knowledge between configurations → identity increasingly accessible as one.

The differentiation of configurations remains present while access, communication, memory and continuity across transitions become increasingly available.

2. Temporal Anchors and Cycles (The Architect's Grounding)

Audrey describes locating recent events in time and returning to them through reiterated cycles. The present becomes increasingly accessible: 2026, adulthood, present resources.

TIFT® reads the stable sequence as the architecture within which the living configuration unfolds. The structure remains stable; the movement belongs to the person.

3. The Goal and Intrapsychic Cooperation (Conflict Reduction)

Audrey says that the configurations do not all have the same perspective, while each brings a skill toward the shared goal. Configurations carrying shame or distress can know that they have a place, that they are important, and that they are no longer isolated.

TIFT® reads the goal as a common direction held by the whole configuration. Differentiated configurations can contribute while remaining differentiated.

4. Attenuation of Switches and Reduction of Amnesia

The first development is a change in the transitions: they become less abrupt, physical transition phenomena decrease, and amnesia decreases.

The next development is more precise: Audrey can feel a switch coming, prepare herself, slow what is happening, and connect the emerging change with what was said or felt immediately beforehand.

The transition itself is entering perception.

5. The Gym Session — the See-Saw in Action

Audrey went to exercise immediately after the session because she had to. In TIFT®, this is understood as a compulsory motor abreaction.

The process had moved beyond the window of capacity Audrey could assimilate. Sympathetic activation exceeded the WOT she could hold. Parasympathetic activation then overcame the sympathetic activation, producing a stable state of “nothing moving”: the blackout.

The upper and lower branches become visible in the same episode: upper-branch hyperaroused sympathetic activation, the tipping point, then lower-branch parasympathetic activation and collapse into blackness.

During the workout Audrey experienced brief moments of depersonalisation and derealisation and was increasingly able to ground herself. Her emotional and mood regulation was also much more stable.

The workout therefore shows the see-saw at work: upper branch → tipping point → lower branch → return.

New integration, new skills and new realisations become accessible while a deeper layer remains enfolded.

6. Emma, Samuel and the Emergency Stop

Emma and Samuel are two of Audrey’s 16 configurations.

Audrey still has blackouts with Emma. Samuel’s observation — “nobody in the system knows what happens when she takes control” — gives the inaccessible interval a place in shared knowledge.

The session has now progressed to a point where Audrey can perceive the approaching transition and retain access to what preceded it. A new continuity begins to arise. At this point, the protective adapted system draws its emergency stop.

The principal protection was erasing remembering.

The configurations could not see, meet or remember what happened across the transition. This extraordinarily fine-tuned system maintained a safe enough condition.

Now remembering begins to return: Audrey feels the switch coming, can prepare, can retain what preceded it, and can remember across the transition.

7. The Correspondence Itself

An earlier email is signed Elena and Emma; a later email is signed Elena, while Elena communicates what Samuel has observed about Emma. The communication itself carries the differentiated configurations present at that moment.

The configurations can communicate from within the changing configuration while continuity across them develops.

8. Supervisory Direction

Take some time in the next sessions to explore what this new capacity to realise that a switch is coming, to prepare for it and to remember across it means.

Differentiation → fuller unfolding of each configuration → increasing perception of transitions → continuity of access across transitions → shared knowledge between configurations → identity increasingly accessible as one.

The system shows its present limit. Perceive the transition, the emerging continuity and the emergency stop, and let the system continue in its own rhythm.
